Its Hour Come Round at Last
by J. C. Runolfson

He was different in the shell,
his father the sinuous white dragon of the Eastern Sea,
his mother a fallen star.
When the stars fell again, he hatched,
and his brothers fled as he walked among them upright,
moved relentless toward the shore.
In the currents he glowed,
in the cold depths of his father's realm he burned,
and when he reached the air he screamed,
the rough beast slouching towards Tokyo.
